Harvesting at the Urban Garden Center

Description

Please meet directly at the UH Urban Garden Center, where volunteers will check in, receive gloves, harvesting gear, and boxes, and be given instructions for the shift. At the end of your shift, please return all gear and harvested produce to The Pantry where it will be distributed the very next day! 

This is a physically demanding shift that requires standing, bending, twisting, and spending prolonged periods outdoors (up to 3 hours). To ensure your comfort and safety, please come prepared with:

  • Sunscreen
  • Closed-toed shoes (required)
  • Hat
  • Snack / water

Be ready to get your hands dirty and make a meaningful impact at the Urban Garden Center! We recommend wearing clothes and shoes you don’t mind getting muddy, as conditions may vary with weather.
