Who We Are

This collaboration between The Pantry and The University of Hawaii's Cooperative Extension, the Urban Garden Center, is an enriching way to learn about Hawaii's agricultural processes, get a little muddy planting new crops, and harvest organically grown produce- all of which will be distributed to our clients the very next day!

Please meet at The Pantry to retrieve gloves, harvesting gear, and bags. After your shift, please return all gear and harvested produce to The Pantry! We kindly ask that volunteers arrange their own transportation to the UH Urban Garden Center in advance, as it is approximately a 20-minute drive from The Pantry. Necessary Gear: This is a physically demanding shift that requires standing, bending, twisting, and spending prolonged periods outdoors (Up to 3 hours). To ensure your comfort and safety, please come prepared with: Sunscreen Closed-toed shoes (required) Hat Snack / Water Be ready to get your hands dirty and make a meaningful impact at the Urban Garden Center! We suggest you wear shoes you don't mind getting dirty. It is a working farm and can get muddy with rain.
